Introduction

Introduction

The Laboratory Medicine is key department to create and convey knowledge about the causes and mechanisms of diseases. It performs various tests on blood and other body fluids to make a decision in the aspect of the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. This department is subdivided into laboratory management, clinical chemistry, diagnostic hematology, immunology (including HLA), urine microscopy, blood bank (transfusion medicine and therapeutic pheresis), clinical microbiology, molecular genetics (including flowcytometry), cytogenetics (chromosome tests), and biobank.
